Job summary

Interim HealthCare of Western Michigan - Staffing is hiring a Resident Aide to provide personal care and support in various facilities, including nursing homes and hospitals.

You will work with RNs, LPNs and CNAs, helping with daily activities, mobility, nutrition and vital monitoring while maintaining patient dignity and safety. The role offers full-time hours and a path to growth in a nationwide caregiving network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6 months of adult caregiving or completion of a CNA course with references.
• Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws/regulations.
• Compassionate, good communicator; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Care for personal care and hygiene needs of patients in facilities such as nursing homes and hospitals.
• Work with a team of clinicians to deliver patient care.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming and nutrition.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers and range-of-motion exercises.
• Check vitals, document changes and report issues to supervisor.
• Notify supervisor of any care or equipment changes.

As a Resident Aide here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Care for the personal care and hygiene needs of patients in facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation centers and hospitals
• Work with a team of physicians, RNs, LPNs, CNAs and aides to deliver excellent patient care
• Help with daily needs such as bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, eating and nutritional intake
• Assist with ambulation, transfers and range of motion exercises
• Check vitals, measure intake/output, and document any changes
• Observe patient and notify supervisor of issues requiring a change in care, medication or equipment

A few must-haves for Resident Aides:

• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• 6 Months of previous adult caregiving OR completion of a CNA course (must provide professional references to verify experience OR certificate of completion of CNA class).
• Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws and regulations
• Compassionate nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
