Job summary

The Alden Network in Illinois is seeking an Activities Coordinator to manage the daily activity calendar set by the Activity Director. You will support the Activity Program's mission, follow policies and regulations, and aim to enhance residents' quality of life through psychosocial and leisure activities.

The role requires at least one year in healthcare, a high school diploma, the ability to communicate in English, and a willingness to engage with residents, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of healthcare experience or volunteering with the disabled.
• Knowledge of Federal and State activity regulations.
• Able to read and write English.
• Valid IL driver's license.
• Punctual and time-efficient.
• Empathetic, compassionate, energetic, and positive.
• Able to interact with residents, families and staff.
• Able to relate to ill, disabled, elderly and sometimes hostile individuals.
• Ability to communicate with community and professionals.
• Understand and manage emotional needs of self and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide feedback to the Activity Director to monitor goals.
• Lead a therapeutic, person-centered activity program.
• Follow Activity Policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Develop person-centered activity plans based on resident backgrounds.
• Schedule daily activities reflecting residents' rights and preferences.
• Assess residents socially, medically, cognitively, and behaviorally.
• Document required records and maintain logs.
• Update calendars and boards with monthly themes.
• Facilitate community involvement and outings.
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; request materials as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
