Job summary

Goldwater Care Clinton is looking for an Activity Aide to assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational, social, intellectual, emotional and spiritual programs for residents, in line with their care plans.

You will observe resident participation, report progress, and coordinate with other departments to maintain a warm, calm environment while delivering meaningful activities that support well-being and dignity.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and involvement and report progress.
• Maintain rapport with other departments to ensure activities proceed smoothly.
• Prepare activity rooms for scheduled programs and advise on equipment/supply needs.
• Assist in cleaning activity areas after functions.
• Follow the care plan in providing daily activities for residents.
• Oversee residents engaged in activities to promote well-being.
• Assist in-room residents by visiting, writing letters, running errands, and helping with crafts.
