Job summary

Goldwater Care in Peoria Heights, IL, seeks an activities aide to assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating resident activity programs in accordance with care plans. Paid training provided and opportunities to support residents' social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Responsibilities include preparing activity spaces, coordinating with other departments, purchasing supplies, and safeguarding resident confidentiality while guiding residents through scheduled activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating the activity programs & quality assurance program in this facility for the Activities Department.
• Develop & maintain a good working rapport with other departments within the facility to assure that daily activities can be performed without interruption.
• Assist in preparing activity rooms/areas for scheduled activity programs.
• Follow the care plan in providing daily activities for resident.
• Purchase department supplies, clothing and personal items for the residents.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information.
• Oversee residents engaged in scheduled activities.
