Job summary

Arbors at Fairlawn in Ohio is seeking a part-time Resident Activity Assistant to organize and participate in activity programming tailored to residents. The role includes one-to-one interventions, group activities, and documentation of participation in medical records.

The candidate will support residents and families, collaborate with the activity director and other disciplines, and help plan monthly calendars and special events within the center.

Responsibilities

• Assists the resident activity director as needed.
• Uses environment to provide comfort and stimulation to residents.
• Fosters a sense of community within the center.
• Leads and participates in individual and group activities.
• Utilizes pet, music, art therapy models to support programming.
• Assists with decorating for events and seasonal parties.
• Develops and posts the monthly activity calendar.
• Participates in recreational programs for residents in their rooms.
• Promotes volunteer involvement in the community.
• Maintains records of activities and attendance.
• Stores equipment and cleans area after activities.
• Uses Biopsychosocial model to support resident well-being.
• Provides or arranges comfort/support to residents and families when needed.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
