Ciena Healthcare in Michigan is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Activity Director in facilitating programs that enhance residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. You will help create an engaging environment and foster a sense of community and belonging.

The role involves assisting residents to events, maintaining records, and coordinating with volunteers while complying with regulatory requirements. A high school diploma and computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in activities, recreation therapy, and long-term care preferred.
• Computer skills are required.
• Meets state and federal criminal background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates activity programs to meet residents' functional levels, needs and interests as planned.
• Assist residents to and from activity programs and outings as scheduled.
• Maintains good rapport with family members and encourages family support in programs.
• Completes attendance and participation records in a timely basis.
• Provides input to assessment and evaluation of Residents' participation when requested; communicates concerns to supervisor.
• Supports residents' individual needs, preferences, routines and choices.
• Assists with escorting residents to and from activities.
• Works with volunteers and volunteer programs as requested by the Activity Director.
• Cleans equipment and materials used for activities.
• Participates in long-term care survey processes, regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
