Job summary

Ciena Healthcare is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in providing engaging programs for residents at Aria Nursing & Rehab. You will help coordinate and participate in activities designed to meet physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

Responsibilities include assisting residents to activities, documenting participation, and collaborating with volunteers. A GED/HS diploma and basic computer skills are required, with background checks as per regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in activities, recreation therapy, and long-term care preferred.
• Computer skills are required.
• Meets state and federal criminal background check requirements.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate activity programs as planned to meet residents’ needs and interests.
• Assist residents to and from activity programs and outings as scheduled.
• Maintain good rapport with family members and encourage involvement.
• Record attendance and participation in activities accurately and timely.
• Provide input to assessment and evaluation of residents’ participation when requested.
• Support residents’ individual needs, preferences and routines.
• Escort residents to and from activities as needed.
• Collaborate with volunteers and Volunteer programs as directed by the Activity Director.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and materials used for activities.
• Participate in long-term care survey processes and accreditation requirements.
