Job summary

Park Nursing Home seeks a Recreational Aide to assist in planning and coordinating recreational activities under the supervision of a Recreation Director. You will prepare resources, guide participants, maintain equipment, and reiterate safety guidelines for activities.

Responsibilities include implementing activities, assisting residents on units, organizing supplies, and documenting participation. You will help create the recreation calendar and coordinate with outside parties while following

Qualifications

• Experience with activities in healthcare settings or college work in recreation therapy preferred.
• Previous experience with geriatric population preferred.
• Proficient computer skills necessary.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing activities and programs for residents.
• Work with residents on the units and organize supplies as requested.
• Assist recreation specialists and set up program areas as needed.
• Keep daily attendance and document residents’ participation.
• Assist residents to program location and return them to units.
• Collaborate with the Recreation Director to create/modify the recreation calendar and coordinate with outside parties.
• Be familiar with established emergency procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Smoking supervision.
