Job summary

Pikes Peak Post Acute is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in creating a creative, interactive activities program for residents. You will help plan and run individual, small and large group activities, and assist with calendar development and attendance records.

You will also help communicate with residents, families, staff and external agencies, arrange transportation when needed, and support discharge planning and activity care plans to enhance residents'

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in providing communication between residents, families, staff, government agencies and the public.
• Assist in development of monthly activity calendar and maintaining attendance records.
• Assist in arranging transportation for residents when necessary.
• Keep Activity Department clean, orderly and secured.
• Participate in discharge planning and development of activity care plans and resident assessments.
