Job summary

Lincolnshire Health and Rehabilitation Center in Merrillville, Indiana, is seeking an Activity Aide to support residents in short-term or long-term care in a comfortable, caring environment. You’ll plan and lead engaging activities that promote socialization, cognitive function, and overall well-being while assisting with ADLs and coordinating with staff.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and are 18+ with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Degree in recreation therapy, therapeutic recreation, or related field preferred.
• 0 years of experience; willingness to learn and grow with our team.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational activities for residents, including group activities, outings, and one-on-one sessions.
• Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, and staff to ensure successful program operations.
• Assist with maintaining accurate records and reports, including activity calendars, participant records, and program evaluations.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless implementation of activities and programs.
• Provide support to residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Assist with maintaining a safe and clean Activity Department.
