Job summary

Lincoln Village Healthcare Center in Lincoln, IL seeks an Activity Aide to plan, organize, and conduct recreational activities that enhance residents' quality of life. You will work with the Activities Director to meet physical, cognitive, emotional, and social needs and promote engagement.

Responsibilities include preparing and delivering daily activities, encouraging participation, documenting attendance, and collaborating with nursing and therapy staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in recreational, therapeutic or activity programs preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Creativity, patience, and genuine interest in working with older adults.
• Ability to motivate and engage residents of varying abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, setup, and delivery of daily activities, programs, and events.
• Encourage resident participation and provide support for engagement.
• Adapt activities to meet residents' varying abilities and preferences.
• Escort and assist residents to activity areas as needed.
• Build rapport and support individualized activity plans.
• Observe and report changes in mood or participation to the Activities Director.
• Record attendance and participation; follow safety and infection control guidelines.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and other departments to coordinate activities.
