Job summary

RegalCare at Blackstone Valley in Northbridge, Massachusetts, is seeking an Activity/Recreation Assistant to enhance residents’ quality of life through engaging activities. You will join our Activities Department and help plan, lead, and coordinate recreational and social programs for older adults, while fostering a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment.

The role emphasizes creativity, empathy, and teamwork, with opportunities to support events, outings, and therapeutic activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with seniors in care settings preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creative, enthusiastic, patient, and dependable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead daily activity programs for residents.
• Encourage participation in individual and group activities.
• Coordinate events, holidays, outings, and entertainment.
• Build relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain supplies and decorate for seasonal events.
• Document participation and communicate changes to the Activities Director.
• Ensure activities are safe, respectful, and inclusive.
• Assist with transporting residents to activities.
• Support department projects and events.
• Perform other duties to support the department.
