Job summary

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center seeks an Activities Assistant to support residents through planned recreational activities that promote physical, mental, and psychosocial wellbeing. You will help organize group and individual programs, tailor activities to residents' interests, and document observations with the therapeutic team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to make independent decisions.
• Knowledge of the Privacy Rule and ability to ensure compliance.
• Patient, tactful, and cheerful disposition.
• Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
• Participation in continuing education and inservice training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and run events and activities programming
• Build relationships with residents to tailor programming to their interests and desires
• Organize group and individual programming
• Generate ideas for exciting and engaging activities
• Encourage residents to participate in activities that stimulate their potential
• Assist with establishing resident care goals within the framework of the therapeutic team
• Document and report any unusual or significant findings
• Report all reportable events immediately
