Job summary

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking a passionate Activities Assistant to join our recreation team. You will assist in planning, organizing, and directing recreational activities for residents to support their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

The role offers a 1pm–7pm schedule with weekly pay at $16/hour, including every other weekend. You will coordinate events, build relationships with residents, and help tailor programming to individual interests while

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to make independent decisions.
• Knowledge of the Privacy Rule and ability to ensure compliance.
• Patient, tactful, and cheerful disposition.
• Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
• Participation in continuing education and inservice training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and run events and activities programming.
• Build relationships with residents to tailor programming to their interests and desires.
• Organize group and individual programming.
• Generate ideas for engaging activities.
• Encourage residents to participate in activities that stimulate their potential.
• Assist with establishing resident care goals within the framework of the therapeutic team.
• Document and report any unusual or significant findings.
• Report all reportable events immediately.
