Job summary

Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is seeking a passionate Activities Assistant to join our recreation team. You will assist in planning, organizing, and directing recreational activities for our residents to support their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

The position offers weekly pay at $16 an hour with a 1pm–7pm schedule, including every other weekend. A high school diploma or equivalent, English proficiency, and a compassionate, team-oriented approach are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to make independent decisions.
• Knowledge of Privacy Rule and privacy compliance.
• Patient, tactful, and cheerful disposition.
• Ability to relate information about a resident's condition.
• Participation in continuing education and inservice training.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and run events and activities programming
• Build relationships with residents to tailor programming to their interests and desires
• Organize group and individual programming
• Generate ideas for exciting and engaging activities
• Encourage residents to participate in activities that stimulate their potential
• Assist with establishing resident care goals within the framework of the therapeutic team
• Document and report any unusual or significant findings
• Report all reportable events immediately
