Job summary

South Hills Post Acute is seeking an enthusiastic Activity Assistant in Bethel Park to support the Activity Director in running a creative activities program. The role focuses on meeting residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial needs through engaging, person-centered activities and assessments.

Responsibilities include planning events, coordinating transportation, maintaining calendars, and promoting resident participation in hobbies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One-year experience in a long term care facility preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting individual and group activities.
• Support communication between staff, residents and families.
• Help develop monthly activity calendars and track attendance.
• Assist with activity care plans and resident assessments.
• Arrange transportation for residents when needed.
• Encourage participation in hobbies, crafts and reading.
