Job summary

Wesley Commons is seeking an Activities Assistant to support daily, weekly, weekend, and monthly activities for residents. You will assist with reminiscence sessions, outings, and special events, while maintaining records and planning calendars.

Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to coordinate with nursing staff and families. The role involves maintaining stimulating activity spaces, supporting residents’ needs, and complying with HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in social or recreation program in a health care setting (or related degree)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to plan, organize, and interpret activity programs

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting daily, weekly, weekend, and monthly activities and special events
• Maintain activity records and Snoozelen room assessments
• Plan reminiscence sessions with residents and families when needed
• Prepare and post monthly activity calendars for each floor
• Assist with transportation for activities as needed
• Ensure activity spaces are clean, organized, and well stocked
• Attend care plan meetings and participate in HIPAA-compliant documentation
