Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduated from high school or equivalent, or approved state equivalency.
• Bachelor's degree with 1 year experience serving elderly or disabled in a human service or medically related program.
• 60 semester hours with 2 years of full-time experience working with elderly people or people with disabilities in a human service or medically related program.
• Completed an activities director's course, and two years of full-time experience working with elderly people or people with disabilities in a human service or medically related program.

Responsibilities

• Organize both individual and group activities for residents.
• Develop the activities component of the Comprehensive Care Plan from the activity assessment.
• Complete annual assessments for residents on the activities component.
• Prepare monthly calendars and newsletters accessible to residents and posted in rooms.
• Coordinate at least two off-site activities per month.
• Recruit, orient, and supervise the volunteer program.
• Participate in QA meetings and monthly QA reports.
