Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. seeks a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to develop individualized plans of care for residents using the MDS/RAI framework and to build a facility activity program in line with state and federal regulations.

The role emphasizes resident-centered activities that promote medical, spiritual, social and recreational well-being. The position requires coordinating with community agencies, volunteers and staff, managing supplies and budgets, and ensuring ongoing quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid MT driver's license and proof of insurability.
• Therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional license (MT).
• 2 years in a social or recreational program in healthcare.
• OT/OTA qualifications may be acceptable.
• MT Activity Director course to be completed within 1 year of hire.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• CNA certification in Montana or obtainable within six months.

Responsibilities

• Develop individualized plans of care for residents using the MDS/RAI framework.
• Develop the facility activity program in compliance with regulations to meet residents' needs.
• Create programs to include evening and weekend activities.
• Develop activities appropriate for residents with physical, mobility, sensory and cognitive deficits.
• Coordinate with community agencies, volunteers and staff to provide planned activities.
• Coordinate provision of supplies and materials within budgets.
• Possibly provide transportation for activities and appointments.
• Collaborate with resident council president on meeting plans and reporting results.
• Maintain quality assurance program for the activity department and supervise staff.
• Schedule activities to align staff capacity with program offerings and resident needs.
