Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with six months related experience or training.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of residents, associates, or the public.
• Ability to apply common sense in following written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to handle problems with several concrete variables in standard situations.
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus; valid driver’s license.
• Must possess excellent people skills and a sincere appreciation of the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and evaluate resident activities and events.
• Assist with monthly activity calendar and distribution of resident mail.
• Promote programs in small and large group settings and encourage participation.
• Develop relationships with residents and support quality of life.
• Lead activities as directed by supervisor and escort residents to events.
• Maintain a welcoming, organized programming area and assist with materials.
• Survey residents to determine interests and satisfaction with programs.
• Ensure safety, document incidents, and follow department guidelines.
