Job summary

Providence Pointe Healthcare is seeking a Community Life Assistant to help plan and implement engaging activities for residents in our long-term care facility.

You will support residents one-on-one, encourage participation, and work closely with other staff to tailor programs to individual needs and abilities.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; six months to one year of experience with seniors is preferred. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is appreciated.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months to 1 year experience with seniors in activity-related duties or healthcare setting preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work both independently and in a team.
• Willing to enroll in a training course for activities within six months of employment.
• Knowledge of aging and resident activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing recreational activities for residents.
• Encourage and motivate residents to participate in activities.
• Assist in setup and cleanup of activity areas.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities.
• Provide one-on-one support to residents who require additional assistance.
• Collaborate with other staff to ensure activities meet residents’ needs.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
