Ojai Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an Activity Assistant to help run a creative activities program for residents. You will support the Activity Director, plan and conduct activities, and ensure compliance with regulations and assessments.

Role emphasizes teamwork and resident engagement. Responsibilities include creating monthly calendars, coordinating outings, and assisting with care plans while maintaining documentation and communicating effectively with staff, residents and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
• Ability to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and conducting of individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in communication between staff, residents, families and the public.
• Assist in development of monthly activity calendar and attendance records.
• Assist in discharge planning and activity care plans.
• Arrange transportation for residents as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean Activity Department and participate in assessment documentation.
