Job summary

Ojai Health and Rehabilitation is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Activity Director in delivering a creative and interactive program for residents. You will help plan and conduct activities for individuals and groups, coordinate outings, and ensure communication among staff, residents, and families to meet residents’ interests and needs.

The role emphasizes assisting with monthly calendars, attendance records, and care plans, while maintaining a safe, clean Activity Department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read technical procedures and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and conducting of individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in providing good communication between employees, residents, families, and public to meet needs and interests.
• Assist in development of monthly activity calendar and maintain attendance records.
• Assist with discharge planning and development of activity care plans.
• Assist in arranging transportation for residents for outings, appointments, or discharge.
• Develop monthly activity schedule including outings, group activities, and in-room activities for bed-bound residents.
