Job summary

Cumberland County Guidance Center, in Vineland, NJ, is seeking Residence Specialist II professionals for full-time and part-time roles. The starting rate is $20.00 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and professional development opportunities.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to support residents in achieving recovery and independence within the community. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Counseling, Sociology, or related fields,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the specified fields is required.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills preferred.
  • Experience in behavioral health or residential services is a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support services to residents to develop life skills and recovery goals.
  • Assist with daily living skills and community integration.
  • Develop and implement individualized service plans.
  • Maintain accurate progress notes and resident records.
  • Monitor resident progress and communicate with the treatment team.
  • Facilitate recreational, educational, wellness, and skill-building activities.
  • Provide transportation assistance when needed.

What You'll Do

As a Residence Specialist, you'll provide direct support services that help residents develop life skills, achieve recovery goals, and maintain successful community living.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support residents in achieving individualized recovery and treatment goals
  • Assist with daily living skills, personal growth, and community integration
  • Participate in the development and implementation of individualized service plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and resident records
  • Monitor resident progress and communicate observations to the treatment team
  • Facilitate recreational, educational, wellness, and skill-building activities
  • Provide transportation assistance when needed
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in:
    • Social Work
    • Psychology
    • Human Services
    • Counseling
    • Sociology
    • Or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in behavioral health, mental health, residential services, human services, or community-based programs
  • Experience supporting individuals living with mental health or co-occurring disorders
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Commitment to person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care
  • Experience as a Residential Counselor, Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), Direct Support Professional (DSP), Case Aide, or Community Support Worker
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
