Job summary

UW‑River Falls seeks a Residence Life Facilities Technician to oversee maintenance and project work across 11 residence halls, coordinating with Facilities Management and outside contractors.

The role involves inspections, repairs, and supporting heating/cooling systems, while ensuring safety and sustainability. On-site duties include after-hours coverage, with a starting pay rate of $26.00 per hour and a six-month probation.

Qualifications

• Three years of maintenance and/or operations experience required.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills; public speaking ability.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to work independently and in teams; good judgment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities; safety aware.
• Able to perform manual labor up to 50 pounds and hold a valid driver's license.
• Familiarity with basic PCs, word processing, calendars, email, and payroll/event systems.
• Preferred: associate degree; prior college/university facility experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance activities and project coordination for 11 residence halls.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair custodial equipment and facilities.
• Coordinate work orders, inventory, and procurement with departments and contractors.
• Assist with building control systems to ensure HVAC performance.
• Provide on-call coverage and support during emergencies and after-hours.
