Alvernia University in Reading, PA seeks a Director of Residence Life to provide visionary leadership for the Office of Residence Life, shaping a vibrant, safe and inclusive residential community that supports student learning, belonging, and success. You will oversee housing operations, residential education, programming, and staff development.

The role requires a Master’s in Higher Education, 2+ years supervisory experience, and a track record in data-informed decision making, budget

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Higher Education or relevant years of experience required.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or team-lead experience, demonstrating the ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff.
• Proficiency in relevant systems, databases, and software applications.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, evaluate processes, and implement improvements.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing demands.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, or travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Residence Life team, including staff development and performance evaluation.
• Provide leadership and strategic direction for housing operations, programming, and student services.
• Develop and manage the ORL budget in alignment with institutional priorities.
• Promote a student-centered, inclusive community and coordinate crisis response as needed.
• Collaborate with campus partners to ensure quality housing and student well-being.
