Job summary

SCAD is seeking a community director to oversee a residence hall, guiding staff, programs, and student interactions to foster academic and personal growth. The role educates, advises, and promotes SCAD's mission through value-based events and daily engagement with students and staff.

You will manage staffing, safety, and operations, participate in crisis response rotations, and serve as a conduct hearing officer. A strong background in higher education and residential life is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Master’s degree in higher education, student development, counseling, or related field
• Experience in a college residential setting or other group living environment
• Access to a personal vehicle

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate paraprofessional staff.
• Coordinate program models and department-wide trainings.
• Participate in recruitment, selection, and continual training of residence directors and paraprofessional staff.
• Coordinate hall openings and closings, health and safety inspections, damage billing, and room consolidations.
• Assist with the housing selection process, orientations, professional development workshops, and budget management.
