Job summary

University of Houston seeks a Residence Life Coordinator to manage the operations of a major residence facility. The role includes office administration, room assignments, staff supervision, programming, and policy enforcement for student housing.

You will counsel students, lead leadership development, and coordinate with campus partners to support a thriving residential community of about 6,500 students. This is a security-sensitive role requiring a commitment to student wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of one year of directly related experience; three years preferred.
• Experience in residential life or student services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates operations of a large Residence Hall, including admin tasks, room assignments, contracts, files, key control, and work orders.
• Selects, trains, supervises and evaluates administrative staff and student assistants.
• Plans and evaluates programs and community-building initiatives for staff.
• Responsible for on-call emergencies and duty rotation for ~6,500 students.
• Enforces Residential Life policies and university rules and procedures.
• Counsels students on conduct, safety, sanitation or behavior improvement.
• Provides leadership development for hall/floor council members via training and mentoring.
• Maintains office hours and maintains visibility at events.
• Serves as liaison with other departments to coordinate opportunities for students.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
