Job Type: Full-time, 12-month, entry-level, live-in appointment

General Job Description:

The Neighborhood Director is a live-in professional responsible for overseeing a residential neighborhood, managing residence halls or homes, supervising student staff, organizing programming, handling behavioral issues, and providing crisis response. The role supports housing operations and fosters an inclusive, engaging student living environment, reporting to the Director of Residence Life.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative:
  • Supervise Resident Assistants and communicate with residents and staff.
  • Report inventories, work orders, incident reports, and assessments.
  • Use the Dragon-360 platform for communication.
  • Manage financial transactions and events.
Crisis Intervention:
  • Respond to emergencies and crises, utilizing protocols and referrals.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond during various hours.
  • Report incidents promptly and collaborate with campus resources.
Behavior and Conflict Management:
  • Handle student conduct issues with fairness and empathy.
  • Serve as conduct hearing officer and facilitate mediations.
  • Address conflicts and communicate with coaches and staff as needed.
Housing Operations:
  • Assist with housing initiatives and monitor maintenance issues.
  • Manage check-in/check-out processes and conduct facility walkthroughs.
  • Handle keys/cards and support summer housing activities.
Programming:
  • Coordinate community-building programs with student staff.
  • Track and ensure monthly programming activities.
  • Collaborate with campus offices for programming and special housing initiatives.
  • Organize large-scale social events each semester.
Leadership:
  • Attend meetings and staff training.
  • Co-lead Resident Assistant recruitment and training.
  • Represent TU at campus events and build relationships with residents and staff.
  • Participate in committees and campus activities.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
  • Incident Management: Resolve 95% of incidents within 48 hours.
  • Administrative Efficiency: Submit all reports on time with 85% accuracy.
  • Student Interaction: Conduct three weekly interactions with 80% positive feedback.
Program Management:
  • Manage Dragon Pantry, respond to requests within 12 hours, and conduct food drives.
  • Oversee Tiffin Hall and House Association activities.
