Description

Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services (PCHAS) offers 14 programs across 28 locations in Texas, Missouri, and Louisiana. Our goal is to provide children with permanent homes and help adults achieve self-sufficiency, guided by “The PCHAS Way”: strength-focused, family-centered, and goal-driven.

Status: Exempt

Working Conditions: The Coordinator of Volunteers works remotely with their own computer, phone, and a PCHAS email. Must be outgoing, able to communicate effectively, lift 40 lbs., and have a flexible schedule. Mileage and meal reimbursements are provided for travel.

Position Summary: The Village Life Coordinator (VLC) supports residents of the Itasca Foster Care Village and oversees recreational programs, including summer lifeguards and the Village Recreation and Overnight Relief (VROR). Responsibilities include managing schedules, activities, facility maintenance, and supporting foster care case managers. The VLC supervises volunteers, VROR, and lifeguards, and performs specialized foster family support services.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage the Village Foster Parent Group (Village People).
  • Provide excellent customer service and communication with foster parents.
  • Develop and oversee recreational and educational programs, collaborating with staff and foster parents.
  • Manage VROR schedules and hire/supervise summer lifeguards.
  • Organize community events and facilitate foster parent discussions.
  • Support Kinship Foster Family Home Caregivers and collaborate with community partners.
  • Manage donation and foodbank supplies.
  • Support Village Case Managers, possibly carrying a caseload of up to 6 children.
  • Handle budgeting, surveys, and campus needs assessments.
  • Conduct monthly facility checks for lease compliance and maintenance.
  • Ensure recreational facilities are maintained and cleaned.
  • Provide on-call support for the Foster Care Village.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook 365, and data systems.
  • Flexible hours based on activity needs.
  • Ability to respond to youth, foster parents, and staff effectively.
  • High-energy environment with potential verbal/physical challenges.
  • Low risk of infectious disease exposure.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in social work or related Human Service field required; Master’s preferred. Must be 21+ years old. Certifications in CPR, First Aid, TBRI, CPI required or willing to obtain.

Other Requirements:

Valid driver’s license with a clean record, willingness for background checks, fingerprints, drug screening, and physical exam to ensure health and safety.
