Job summary

Lamar University is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager (Housing) to oversee maintenance, repair, and reliability of residence halls. You will lead maintenance staff, coordinate preventive programs, and ensure safe, code-compliant facilities for students and staff.

Responsibilities include budgeting, planning capital projects, and coordinating with contractors while responding to emergencies. A strong background in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related trades is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or formal technical training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing or carpentry.
• Minimum of five (5) years in institutional facility maintenance.
• Two (2) years of supervisory management experience.
• Valid Class C driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee housing facilities maintenance services and programs.
• Develop and monitor operating and capital budgets with Facilities Business Office.
• Lead preventive and predictive maintenance for residence halls and related housing facilities.
• Coordinate maintenance operations and contractor work to minimize disruption to residence life operations.
• Respond to facility emergencies, including after-hours incidents.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and university policies.
