Job summary

Devon Energy is seeking an Intermediate/Developmental Reservoir Engineer in Midland, TX. Under supervision, you will perform routine reservoir engineering assignments to evaluate oil and gas reserves for new opportunities and development.

You will analyze production data trends, conduct economic evaluations, and support reservoir characterization decisions. Travel of 10–15% may be required; strong analytical and data-handling skills are essential for meeting deadlines and delivering actionable

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 year / Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of reservoir engineering experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in ARIES and data analysis tools required.

Job Profile Summary:

Intermediate/Developmental Level- Under close supervision, incumbents in this role perform routine reservoir engineering assignments to evaluate the value of oil and gas reserves estimates to acquire and develop new opportunities. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with or performing reserves analysis, economic analysis, material balances, and various recovery method analyses.

  • Analyzes production data trends, leading proposal reviews and reservoir characterization decisions
  • Quantifies risks and delivers technical recommendations with business impact to leadership
Skills and Experience:
  • Established proficiency in computing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is required
  • Working knowledge of ARIES is required
  • Working knowledge of Spotfire is preferred
  • Must be able to work with large amounts of detailed data with high level of accuracy
  • Must possess the ability to be self-directed while working in a team environment
  • Must possess strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Must be able to meet established deadlines
Min/Preferred Education Level Description:

Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Position typically requires skills normally obtained through the completion of a 4 year degree program in Petroleum Engineering

Years of Experience:

3-5 Years 3 minimum; 5 preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Demand:

Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.

Travel Requirements:

10% - 15% Travel will be required for mandatory meetings and training.
