AXIS Capital invites you to join our Reserving analytics team in New York, helping turn complex data into trusted insights for critical decisions. You will partner with Reserving, Finance, Actuarial, Claims, Underwriting, and Data & Analytics to build dashboards, datasets, and self-service tools that illuminate loss development, claims experience, and exposure changes.

We expect a strong background in data and analytics within insurance, excellent communication, and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience in data, analytics, actuarial, finance, or related insurance/reinsurance.
• Experience designing or delivering data analytics solutions for business users.
• Deep understanding of insurance data, including claims, policy, exposure, premium, underwriting, finance, and actuarial information.
• Ability to lead through influence, work with technical teams, and bring people together around a shared outcome.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to make complex data clear, practical, and actionable.
• Experience creating dashboards, datasets, visualizations, or self-service tools for performance insights.
• Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies with practical application in business problems.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or similar platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Be a trusted partner to the Reserving team and wider groups using reserving information.
• Help define the reserving analytics roadmap and deliver clear business value.
• Create dashboards, datasets, and self-service tools showing loss development, claims experience, and exposure changes.
• Replace static reporting with interactive insight solutions for exploration and governance.
• Identify, explain and monitor reserve signals and key drivers.
• Collaborate with actuarial, data science, and AI colleagues to explore modern analytics opportunities.
• Promote responsible use of AI with governance and actuarial judgment.
• Create intuitive visualizations to communicate reserving movements and uncertainties.
• Set standards for reserving metrics and data definitions.
• Work with architecture, governance, finance, and underwriting to align data from foundation to insight.
• Look for opportunities to simplify processes and build reusable insight capabilities.
