Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services is seeking a motivated Actuarial Analyst to join our Reserving team in New York. You will assist with actuarial reserve analyses for multiple lines, collect and validate data, and support reserving model development and financial reporting.

This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to learn, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and grow within a growing insurance organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Actuarial Science or a quantitative field.
• Willing to work from New York City or Southington, CT office.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Access and SQL is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior actuarial experience and actuarial exams are not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in actuarial reserve analyses for multiple lines.
• Collect, validate, and analyze reserve data.
• Support testing and enhancement of reserving models.
• Identify trends to assess reserve adequacy.
• Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting.
• Develop data tools using Excel, Access, and SQL.
• Collaborate with Finance, Claims, and Underwriting.
