Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 60 college credits in police science, criminal justice or related field.
• Certified law enforcement officer per Wisconsin standards, or certification within 12 months of hire.
• SRD training completed within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides security at public functions and directs traffic to ensure safety.
• Transports prisoners securely between facilities and supervises custody.
• Conducts marine or snowmobile patrols as needed.
• Assists full-time deputies in law enforcement activities as directed.
• Performs patrol duties including traffic control, accident response, and criminal investigation.
• Maintains radio and telephone contact with supervisors for coordination.
• Assists citizens with issues like lockouts and traffic safety.
• Responds to emergencies and takes appropriate enforcement action.
• Interrogates suspects, preserves evidence, and prepares reports.
• Executes civil process services as required.
• Completes detailed documentation and official reports.
