Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur or Carmel, California, is seeking a Part-time Reservations Agent to provide personalized service throughout the reservation process. You will guide guests through accommodations, experiences, and arrangements, coordinating with other departments for a seamless guest journey from inquiry to arrival.

The role emphasizes clear communication, knowledge of resort offerings, and accurate maintenance of reservations in the PMS.

Qualifications

• Two years of reservations, hospitality, or guest service experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Familiarity with hotel PMS and reservation software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests by phone and email with availability, reservations, modifications, cancellations, and special requests.
• Recommend accommodations, dining, amenities, and packages based on guest preferences.
• Explain rates, deposits, cancellation policies, and reservation terms.
• Maintain reservations and guest preferences in the property management system.
• Coordinate guest arrangements and communicate details to Front Desk and other departments.
• Stay current on resort offerings, promotions, and procedures.
• Resolve guest questions within authority and refer to Reservations Manager as needed.
• Protect confidential guest and company information.
• Complete follow-up tasks and related duties as assigned.

JOB OBJECTIVE:

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Intermediate computer and typing skills, basic math skills, and ability to learn reservation software.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE DESIRED:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of reservations, hospitality, or guest service experience preferred.
• Luxury or boutique hospitality experience preferred.
• Familiarity with hotel property management systems, reservation software, and Front Desk or PBX operations preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to use a computer and telephone for extended periods, with appropriate breaks, and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, squat, and move throughout the work environment as needed.
