Job summary

Proclinical is seeking a Veterinary Technician in New York City to support preclinical studies involving rodents, rabbits, and non-human primates. This contract role focuses on animal procedures, anesthesia monitoring, specimen collection, and medical record maintenance under biosafety guidelines.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team, manage study materials, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Strong documentation and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with laboratory animals and vaccination procedures.
• Knowledge of biosafety and BSL-2 containment practices.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct animal research activities including vaccinations, sample collection, and anaesthesia monitoring.
• Prepare for animal studies by organizing supplies and dosing materials.
• Work under BSL-2 containment when handling materials, infectious agents, and specimens.
• Administer veterinary medications and perform animal procedures using approved study protocols.
• Support health and welfare of research animals including enrichment and observations.
• Manage databases for animal medical records and study data.
• Process tissue specimens for downstream analysis.
• Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely research documentation.
