The Research Technology Analyst for Engineering Computing serves as a critical liaison between faculty and IT staff within the College of Engineering.
This role is responsible for identifying, documenting, and translating faculty research and instructional computing needs into actionable requirements for IT solutions.
The Research Technology Analyst will collaborate with faculty across diverse engineering disciplines, ensuring their computing needs are met in areas such as High-Performance Computing (HPC), networking, storage, IoT, Linux, Windows, and other relevant technologies.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
North Carolina A & T State University (NCA & TSU) is a public land grant high research activity university with approximately 14,000 students. It is committed to teaching and learning, scholarly research, and public service.
The College of Engineering (COE), with about 2,500 students, offers 5 Doctoral programs, 8 Masters of Science programs, and ABET-accredited undergraduate programs in various engineering disciplines and Computer Science. The college emphasizes leadership, innovation, and research in areas like Autonomous Systems, Cybersecurity, Energy, Healthcare, and Complex Systems. Requirements:
Master's degree with two years of experience in operations analysis, business analysis, systems programming, or a bachelor's degree with four years of relevant experience.
Preferred:
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in a business analyst or similar role, preferably in academia or research
- Experience with IT requirements for grant-funded research
- Knowledge of HPC, networking, storage, IoT technologies
- Strong communication skills with stakeholders at all levels

Work Arrangement: This position may be remote or hybrid, subject to university and state policies. Employees are generally expected to reside within two hours of the campus in North Carolina.
