JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology, is seeking a Research Technologist - Medical Sciences - Intermediate Professional. This is a full-time position available immediately in the Mnatsakanyan lab at the Penn State College of Medicine. The role involves studying cell death pathways in Alzheimer's disease pathogenesis. Responsibilities include performing experiments, data analysis, routine lab ordering, and organization. Opportunities for training in electrophysiology and membrane protein biochemistry, including protein purification, are available. Candidates should be familiar with common biological research techniques, be self-motivated, and eager to learn new methods. Experience with protein purification techniques like SEC and affinity chromatography is a plus. A Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or related fields is required.
This position typically requires a Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. It is a limited-term position funded for one year with the possibility of renewal.
