Job summary

Cornell University in Ithaca, NY seeks a full-time research technician to support a translational program turning computational predictions into novel therapeutics for IBD and autoimmune disease.

Responsibilities include molecular biology, protein biochemistry, and cell-based assays, with opportunities to contribute to publications and commercialization. Strong wet-lab skills and collaboration. On-site position with potential for future funding-based renewal.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and up to 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Hands-on experience with core molecular biology techniques, such as molecular cloning, PCR, and standard nucleic-acid and protein methods.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique.
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills, manual dexterity, timely data generation, and excellent multitasking abilities are required.
• Ability and desire to acquire new technical skills in the wet lab is required
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to independent and ongoing research projects on host-microbiome interactions.
• Assist with validation of therapeutic candidates and lab upkeep.
• Perform molecular biology and cell-based assays, including cloning and protein expression where needed.
• Collaborate with PI, lab staff, students, and postdocs; participate in group meetings.
• Possibly support in vivo efficacy studies and contribute to publications and commercialization.
