Job summary

Seattle Children’s Research Institute is seeking a Research Technician II for the Joag Lab to support studies on tissue-resident memory CD8 T cells across mucosal tissues. The role offers opportunity to influence lab trajectory and establish practices from the ground up.

The role emphasizes 20% lab mgmt, 25% animal colony mgmt, and 55% experimental research including flow cytometry and in vivo/in vitro mouse work. Strong skills in sterile technique, genotyping, and data analysis are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology or related field and at least 1 year of lab/research experience.
• Experience with molecular biology and biochemistry techniques is preferred.
• Hands-on lab skills including sterile technique and data recording.

Responsibilities

• 20% Lab Management: oversee operations, ordering, organization, equipment maintenance, regulatory compliance and records.
• 25% Animal Colony Management: manage mouse colony including breeding, genotyping, weaning.
• 55% Experimental Research: design/run flow cytometry, perform in vitro/in vivo mouse experiments, analyze data.
