Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a Research Technician II to support neuroscience research in Dr. Williams' lab, performing essential wet-lab and data tasks.

Responsibilities include mouse breeding, genotyping, histology, physiology experiments, electrophysiology, and in vivo imaging, with opportunities to learn advanced techniques and contribute to cutting-edge studies on brain control of body weight and glucose regulation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or two years of college with coursework in field of assignment or high school diploma/GED equivalent.
• No experience required with Bachelor’s degree; or 2–4 years of lab experience including at least 2 years at a lower level in a related role.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine scientific and medical research work in biology, chemistry, physics, or related field.
• Assembles and operates laboratory equipment and apparatus.
• Records research data per prescribed procedures and discusses results with supervisor.
• Assists in data collection for project reports.
• Reads literature and consults with supervisor on new procedures.
• May supervise lower-grade lab personnel on parts of a project.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
