Job Summary

Performs laboratory research with minimal supervision. Assists in the design and development of experiments, including the development of new methodologies. Manages all aspects of the biochemical laboratory environment. Assists in analyzing and preparing data for publication and presentation, providing support to primary investigators.

Essential Functions

• Oversees and directs all aspects of chemical analyses required in the department, including basic science and clinical projects.
• Performs measurements using radioisotopes.
• Assists other laboratory staff with analytical procedures.
• Teaches theoretical and practical aspects of chemical analyses to staff members.
• Maintains the laboratory environment, including safety procedures, record logs, and supply ordering.
• Trains others on equipment use and schedules equipment for experiments.
• Develops and establishes new methodologies for chemical analyses.

Physical Requirements

Exposed to chemical solutions. Works in a laboratory environment and interacts with professionals at various levels.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred. At least 3 years of experience in a related scientific field preferred. Proficient in calculating and formulating chemical solutions and experienced with relevant equipment.
