The Vermont Department of Labor is seeking a Program Technician II to work in the Unemployment Insurance Quality Control Unit. The Program Technician provides support by assisting in the administration of quality control review programs, including clerical support, assisting investigators with audit assignments, conducting audits, and other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
The unit performs Benefit Accuracy Measurement audits reviewing random samples of paid and denied UI claims. These comprehensive audits ensure payment and denial accuracy, providing valuable data to the US DOL and Vermont DOL. Strong file management, organization, and self-planning skills are essential. Experience in auditing, paralegal work, bookkeeping/payroll, or benefits program administration is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software is a plus.
This position, Program Technician II - Limited Service (Job Requisition #52179), is open to all State employees and external applicants. Work is mainly in an office setting. Occasional travel may be required. Candidates should be adaptable, able to work under tight deadlines and stress, with some evening and weekend hours possible.
Two years of full-time college coursework or an associate's degree or higher, plus two years of experience at a technical level in program administration (e.g., licensing, records management).
OR
High school diploma or equivalent, plus three years of relevant experience.

One year of experience as a Program Technician I with the State of Vermont.
