Job description

Overview

The Vermont Department of Labor posting is seeking a Program Technician II to work in the Unemployment Insurance Quality Control Unit. The Program Technician provides support to the Quality Control Unit by assisting in the administration of quality control review programs, which includes clerical support, assisting in other investigators audit assignments, conducting assigned audit assignments and other support work as directed by the Quality Control Unit Supervisor.

The unit performs Benefit Accuracy Measurement audits which review random samples of paid and denied claims for UI benefits. These BAM reviews are comprehensive comparative audits which examine all aspects of the claim to ensure accuracy of payment and denials, and the results are instrumental in providing important information to the US DOL and the Vermont DOL on UI program accuracy. BAM audits require strong file management, organization, and self-planning skills. If you have any auditing, paralegal, bookkeeping/payroll experience and/or any experience in benefits program administration, this could be a great fit for you! Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (or comparable) is strong plus!
