Research Technician II
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Associates degree (foreign equivalent or higher). In lieu of the degree, two (2) years of full-time experience performing standard biochemistry techniques such as cloning, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and western blots may be considered. One (1) year of full-time experience performing standard biochemistry techniques such as cloning, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and western blots.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Biology or related field.
Brief Description of Duties:
Successful candidate will work in Dr. Jae Ho Lee’s lab in the Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Primary responsibilities will include maintaining, organizing, and ordering lab reagents and glassware. In addition, the candidate will work with Dr. Lee to design and perform experiments to interrogate mechanisms that ensure proper biogenesis of proteins. The candidate is expected to learn and develop new experimental techniques. The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills to work with other members of the lab, and strong organizational skills to keep the lab organized.
