The department has long been recognized as a leader in research, patient care and education. As a department in an academic health center, we train residents and fellows, as well as providing clinical experience to medical students.

Our research laboratories provide an excellent education for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, and our clinical research unit, located on the 19th floor of the Memorial Hermann Medical Plaza, provides research opportunities for our residents, medical students, and fellows.
The research position will help with clinical and translational research in fields of cornea, ocular surface, ocular oncology, and refractive surgery. Duties may include literature review, helping with study design, submission of IRB protocols, patient recruitment, chart reviews, collection of study results, data analysis, database management, manuscript reparation, and coordinating research projects. They may also perform image analysis and help with translation research. They may also perform clinical and translational imaging as required for research.

Provides routine, entry-level technical assistance in carrying out assigned duties of research projects.

Certification/Skills:
None.
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
No experience necessary. Six months of experience in research lab preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.
