Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife Research in College Station seeks a Research Technician I to provide entry-level technical support for laboratory and field studies in Animal Science. You will collect samples, run basic assays, and help maintain equipment and records under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years of related experience, and strong attention to detail, safety, and protocols. This is an hourly paid position with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of related experience.
• Knowledge of basic laboratory safety and aseptic technique.
• Ability to follow written and verbal protocols precisely and to keep accurate, legible records.
• Ability to perform basic calculations (dilutions, concentrations, unit conversions).
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn new laboratory and field techniques.
• Basic computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet software.

Responsibilities

• Collects samples and data from lab and field trials while following established protocols.
• Assembles and operates technical equipment and maintains records.
• Assists with DNA/RNA extraction and PCR setup.
• Supports senior staff in conducting major experiments.
