Job summary

Texas A&M AgriLife Research in Lubbock is seeking a Research Technician I to support soil health, water conservation, and sustainable cropping systems. Under supervision, you will assist with field, greenhouse, and lab activities, data collection, and logistics for multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with 2 years of related experience, valid Texas driver's license, and strong attention to detail, organization, and communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years of related experience.
• Valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Ability to follow detailed scientific protocols and maintain records.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and work outdoors and independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with establishment, maintenance, and harvesting of agronomic field trials.
• Collect soil, water, plant, and environmental samples per protocols.
• Support irrigation research with field instrumentation and sensors.
• Operate and maintain research equipment and vehicles as needed.
• Enter and manage data using spreadsheets and databases; assist in reporting.
