Job description

The research in D'Andrea lab and Center for DNA Damage and Repair (CDDR) is focused on studying the DNA repair pathways and investigating the inhibitors of these pathways as novel drugs for the treatment of cancer patients. We employ a wide range of novel technologies for the measurement of DNA damage response in cancer cell lines and patient-derived organoid models, including cytotoxicity measurements, and proteomic biomarker measurements.

We are seeking a Research Technician who will assist the staff scientists/ postdoctoral fellows in performing scientific research, of varying complexity. In general, this individual will assist in the set-up, operation, and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring and performing experiments, making observations, and calculating and recording results. The individual will be trained and will be expected to work independently under general supervision. The individual will be an integral member of the research group and work collaboratively with members of the lab. The position will involve performing routine laboratory techniques related to the translational projects.

Students interested in pursuing M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. training will benefit most from this laboratory experience. They will develop the ability to think critically and design careful and well-controlled experiments. Technicians will have the opportunity to be co-authors on manuscripts published in the laboratory.
